10 Fall 2022 Fashion Trend Predictions

With fall on the horizon, I’ve spotlighted 10 of the hottest trends that you’ll be seeing everywhere soon, if you haven't already. From futuristic shades to feminine flats, there's a trend for every style.

1. Cargo Pants

A '90s staple has made a big resurgence in the recent months. There's no doubt these baggy, utility-style pants will be everywhere this fall. I expect to see these in a variety of styles including joggers and leather pants.

2. Clogs

While clogs have been dominating the luxury fashion space for some time now, I anticipate them to be increasingly popular this season. While I cannot get behind the maximalist jumbo styles, I must admit I purchased Birkenstock Bostons for a more casual approach to this trend.

3. Sporty Shades

I'll give credit to Balenciaga and Acne Studios for making these standout sunglasses popular this season. I expect to see a lot of these in neon yellow, black and grey shades for a futuristic look.

4. Tie-Front Cardigans

Another 90s trend that became popular this summer and shows no signs of slowing down. Made trendy by the "off-duty model look". I expect to see this in cropped and sheer versions paired with baggy jeans or slip skirts.

5. Loafers

Polished shoes have been popular for awhile now and it's not too late to jump on the bandwagon. You'll be seeing this classic preppy style with chunky lug soles paired with ankle socks and oversized blazers this season.

6. Adidas Samba Sneakers

A staple sneaker in Europe is growing popularity in the states thanks to models and fashion influencers like Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski and Kate Moss. These seem to slowly be replacing the popular AF1 from Nike.

7. Vintage Style Slip Maxi Dresses

We've seen a lot of these this summer and I imagine them to transition perfectly into the fall with earthy tones as well as pastels. I personally love the romantic, sexy look these give and will definitely continue wearing this trend.

8. Bomber Style Leather Jackets

Some version of a leather jacket trends every fall season. Last year a more tailored blazer style was popular. I predict a looser, oversized bomber look to be popular for this seasons go-to outerwear.

9. Shearling Accessories

A trend that became popular in FW21 has no plans of going away this year. Shearling is not just for house slippers, plan to see this trend with heels and handbags that your favorite style icons will be sporting this season.

10. Ballet Flats

With the rise in popularity of the "ballerina core" aesthetic and effortless French Girl style I can't say I'm surprised ballet flats are making a comeback. Opt for a slingback style for a more modern twist on the trend or go with a classic bow.
